Apparently these Auburn fans think Bear Bryant is dead

AUBearGuys.jpg

AU's 'Bear is Dead' club. Pretty funny, in a Deliverance sort of way.

Dude, I saw the Bear's shroud, he wasn't in it.

This is not very funny to me. It's classless. Just like 22 years ago when Coach Bryant passed away.

I remember seeing bumper stickers & buttons the Auburnites were wearing: "The Tide Has Dyed." I honestly can not remember if they were circulating before Bryant died, but I do remember they were still being proudly displayed after his death. I believe Coach Pat Dye asked the Auburn community to please remove them.

Come to think of it, it was probably some of the parents of these jerks Pat Dye was addressing.

Some things never change. Auburn, as long as you act like 2nd class citizens, you'll be treated as such.

We'll be waiting to see you set up your 'Bear is Dead' Club on the Quad in T-town next year because "Deliverance" won't even come close to describing what will happen to your club should you try. Roll Tide, Roll Tide!

How is dressing up a fake skeleton classless? I would agree that the bumper sticker thing was classless, but this is just a joke, and it isn't even a joke about BB: it's about how some Bama fans can't let go of the man.

And let me get this straight, this is classless, but your less than obvious hint at violence isn't...

Makes you wonder who is more obsessed with Bear Bryant tho -- Bama fans or Auburn fans.

It is classless. The "Bear is dead" jokes make me want to vomit and renounce my citizenship. Can you imagine if these same idiots applied the logic to something else?

For instance, I'm a Democrat and really like FDR. Should Republicans be saying, "FDR is dead! Hahahahaha!" Likewise, should Dems say, "Reagan is dead! Hahahaha!" See? Classless. All the more reason why I'll never, ever set foot in Auburn for the rest of my life.

Looks like a case of National Championship Envy to me. Two undefeted seasons in 15 years and NO National Championships. But hey they can make fun of a dead American Icon. Why didn't the just have "take a picture with the corpse of John Kennedy"? These guys are going to get a real show when Luke Skywalker and 2 live crew show up to see thier nephew play next year. It will be a grand Ghetto time on the plains next year with the players all coming from the "Diploma" Mill.

Thanks for posting this Warren. Did you make the game or just film the intro? Surely you realize that Auburn's fans are just good country folk, while Bama has the market on Rednecks.

ed, Luke Skywalker's nephew at AU, sweet. Back when I was at AU we played those songs a lot while celebrating the last four game victory swing in the Iron Bowl.

Thanks John. Appreciate the words. Spread the link to those Barners down there -- they're invited to the RJYH party too. Wait -- do you guys have computers??

Little joke.

Congrats on the monster win...

Warren:

I saw where you would be in Montgomery this weekend signing. I've been recommending the book to all to read.

I live in Denver. When will you make it out here?
