A man Boi of his word

The inimitable BoifromTroy made a bet with me a while back that if Bama beat Florida this weekend, he'd launch a Brodie Croyle for Heisman campaign, despite his allegiance to the Trojans and this R. Bush character people keep writing about.

The best thing about this bet was that if I "lost," all I had to do was watch as the BoifromTroy didn't launch a Brodie for Heisman campaign. Being as there was a good deal of upside in this wager, with little risk, I accepted.

Well, as we know, Bama schooled the Gators, and before Urban Meyer could say "back to the drawing board," Boifrom launched this site, which has already been linked by CNNSi.com and is generally the talk of the college football world. So much so that a number of Auburn fans -- no doubt still giddy over last year's People National Championship -- have taken to voting for USC's second string quarterback over Brodie in the BoiFromTroy's People's Heisman Trophy poll.

Given that Brodie will win the actual Heisman this year, I think awarding him the People's Heisman trophy might amount to gilding the lilly. But as we know by now, when it comes to online poll participation, Auburn fans can't be beat.

Thanks to the Boifrom for following through. I like your style of wagering; if you want to bet cash instead of html, I'm game. How about this: if Bama wins the SEC, you pay me fifty. If they don't win the SEC, you don't pay me fifty.
